Like many businesses who publish a “where to buy†part of their website I want a ‘Garden Store Finder’ to drive traffic to my site and improve search engine ratings.
Part I. EXPORT MYSQL TO XML
I have an existing sugarCRM database with approximately 2,100 garden store records. I want a cron* built that will export selected fields from all records in ‘leads’ into XML, unless the record is marked for DoNotPublish. The subject data is business contact information (business name, phone number, address, URL, etc, plus a brief description in a textbox.)
*In addition to the the cron, I should be able to execute this export on demand.
Resulting XML is to be stored on a publicly accessible portion of the website and should be visible to search engines. It will be stored in sugarCRM’s parent directory. The sugarCRM and its database is for internal use and should NOT be visible to any website vistors.
Part II. Build webpage with search dialog and results table.
The search dialog will be at the top of the page and will remain even after results are displayed in the table. Search options will include (1) by phone area code, (2) by city and state, and (3) within a distance in miles (selected by dropdown) of a specific zip (postal) code.
Additionally, two checkboxes will filter the results – (1) Show only businesses that carry our product or all businesses, and (2) show garden stores only or show all stores.
This page should include CSS to allow us to change the background, table, borders, and font, to match the rest of our site. Colors to initially be set to black background with green text.
Part III. SEO
Ensure that page is set up to rate highly for the following searches:
“Growshopâ€, “Find growstoreâ€, “Find growshopâ€, “Find local growshopâ€, “Hydroponics storeâ€.
Ensure that the XML data is visible to seach engines. E.g. if “ABC Hydroponics†is searched on google, our site should be displayed “ABC Hydroponics: Gardenstore Finder by Resin-Xâ€
