I designed a development board useful for engineers, faculty members and students alike, for Programming Universal Serial Bus (USB) based microcontrollers. My development board is based on microchip's PIC 18f4550 high end microcontroller technology. A number of hardware protocols and components are presented in the development kit inclusive of Analog-to-digital convertor (ADC), Digital-to-analog (DAC), Light Emitting (LEDs), Seven Segment Displays(SSDs), Serial Port, Interrupt driven design, LCD, EEPROM, Logic switches, temperature sensor, buzzer, 12C, SPI interfacing, relay interface and input/output pins. This development kit is equipped with codes capable of demonstrating the use of aforementioned components. In addition this board is USB based. Hence a USB bootloader will be explored. If possible, it will integrated into the overall system such that the need for unplugging the microcontroller.
