On the Anatomy of Dragons
This is from my character in Achaea, Selira, told from her point of view in a mixed style as she adapts to the new profession of alchemy which she has taken on, and in which she has little guidance. Achaean alchemists hearken back to the Hermetic styles, and in a fantasy world, there's a lot of pure mystery in "how does this work?" to unravel. Theme for this contest was "Dragons."
After attending Cornell College, a private liberal arts college in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, I set out in the workforce and realized something felt a bit off. Freelancing is where my skills truly are, in projects with deadlines and work which I can do with a focused intensity. We did classes in eighteen days at my school - I know how to produce high quality work quickly the first time around. Some writing is on my blog at [login to view URL], and I am always willing to take emails regarding questions. I have also done data entry work for a major U.S. bank for a year and a half.
