I worked as part of a small team and on individual projects to develop data centric applications using Windows Forms, WPF, Silverlight, WCF, Linq2Sql, ASP.NET, Umbraco CMS (v4) and SQL Server. I started as a junior developer working under a senior and progressed to being solely responsible for a number of applications. As well as development my role involved communicating with many clients from small local roofing contractors to national distributors and manufacturers.

During the third year of my degree I worked for the Research and Development Information Services (RDIS) Department at Syngenta on an industrial placement. I completed a number of individual projects to develop Windows Forms applications which interacted with scientific equipment. This involved working closely with end users and followed the whole software development lifecycle from requirements gathering, through development, then testing and deployment.
