My name's Jan Heberlein, I'm 32 years old, born in Berlin and currently living and working in London. Since 2005 I am doing successfully translations on a freelance basis for various agencies and enterprises in the linguistic combinations English > German, Italian > German und French > German. Have a look at a list of my employers that can state only positive experience in working with me: As agencies there are (just a choice): Studio 1 Solutions, Mondo Services, Ability Services, Team Translation, Traduzioni Asseverazioni, Lingoconsult, Technical Translations Agency, FÜD, Bohemian Dragoman, Alternative traduction. Enterprises: Initalia (Inhouse-Translatior for almost 2 years), Silvana Editoriale, Giunti Editore, Ubulibri Edizioni MBE-Germany, Master s.r.l. Milano (Interpreter Italian, English and German), Edition Lembertz, Cosmica Press. I chose the translator's career in 2005 before finishing my studies in German Literature and History. I have a philologist background which suits me very much in my acting as translator conferring me a reliable, proven and elegant stile in my working. As clearly evolves herefrom is that I am not a classical foreign languages correspondent but I enrich my translation works with a suitable and elegant stile, a lot of experience and a profound feeling for language. The fact that I have been working as an editor and translator for several publishing houses, mostly located in Italy (Silvana Editoriale, Giunti Editore, Ubulibri Edizioni, Cosmica Press), proofs me being rooted in the Humanities branch. For the above listed publishers I worked in quite a lot of fields, spanning architectural and art contributions to mere literary and historical issues. I also provided for 20 months Inhouse translator-services for the [login to view URL], a provider for hotel reservations and tourist information throughout Italy. In this position I was responsible for the contents and website localisations in German language and localized the entire homepage from Italian in German language. Take a look on the website to see my contributions there! Since I was the oldest and most experienced translator in our team I soon became the project manager of the Initalia's translator section providing guidance and help to our other Inhouse-translators. My experience in translating issues connected to tourism has grown considerably since. Most of my time now I am spending with my freelancer's activity for agencies and enterprises. The range of issues that I am specialized in comprises: Tourism, Marketing, Art, Technical issues, Manuals, Contracts, Literature , Philosophy, historical issues (I translated a Crusader's book for a German publisher), Packaging, Printing and Transport (mainly for the MBE-Germany) Theatre (worked in an publishing house which publishes books about dramatics), Advertisement + Promotion, Esoteric and self-help (did several translations for books that deal with these issues). I recently moved form Milan to London, a city with an astonishing in- and output of creativity and work. Please free me to contact me anytime you want to get information about my rates. My CAT-Tools are Trados Freelance 6.5., Transit Omega T. I can help you out with other services, too: Transcription, Voice recording, Editing + Proofreading, Interpreting and Localization. Have a look at my profile on [login to view URL] [login to view URL] that shows you my credentials, references, some translation samples and jobs that I did for agencies and enterprises and much more. As a translator working exclusively on your own doesn't get you very far, connecting with other colleagues is important. A true team spirit can help to improve and to enrich you translation services. That's why I am member of GoTranslator and Aquarius and other useful websites. For customer care and interconnection between colleagues I use [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] (find me as Jan Heberlein). I accept payments via PayPal and Moneybookers, you're invited to contact me via email or via Skype: jan.heberlein. Take care and see you soon Jan Heberlein
