Killer Buzz Energy Drink
Killer Buzz is an energy drink with regional but expanding distribution in the south and southeast U.S. Their branding was seriously underperforming, and they approached me to take on a total, from-scratch, blank-slate re-brand. An exhaustive competitive audit revealed the target, and we took aim with a bold and purposeful design and smart, unexpected personality. Variant names were re-invented, eschewing flavor communication for attitude and own-ability. “Proto” replaced “Original”, “Tropical Orange” became “Dragon Spit”, and so on. Every can also received a paragraph of unique copy that further vitalizes the flavor’s own character. This was a great opportunity, as I had sole responsibility for all aspects of the creative.
