Oversee all areas of non-profit organization’s existing programs as well as program development and expansion, including Social Services, Onsite and Offsite Community Partnerships, English as a Second Language, Nutrition and Culinary Education, Wellness Activities, Customer Cooperative Volunteer Program, and professional development activities for staff. Responsible for supervision and evaluation of more than half of the organization’s full-time staff of fifteen as well as two part-time consultants. Oversee three contracts through city and state government funding sources. Routinely report to Board of Directors and participate in strategic planning and organizational restructuring on various levels.

West Side Campaign Against Hunger

Oversaw all aspects of social service counseling department, supervising a staff of four counselors and the receptionist. Grew and expanded the department from one of limited and cursory assessments, information and referral, to a highly respected social service leader in the anti-poverty, anti-hunger communities, incorporating crisis intervention, case management and informed client advocacy. Led department during organization’s busiest year on record (27% increase in demand from FY08 to FY09). Coordinated counseling of over 150 pantry customers daily, providing intervention and skilled advocacy to high-need, challenging cases in multiple areas of service, including public benefits, immigrant services, vocational and educational programs, housing and homelessness, disabled and senior services, health care advocacy, domestic violence support, child care, utilities assistance and more. Initiated partnership model. Successfully established and grew over 10 onsite community partners and more offsite alliances to deliver expanded services and access to multifaceted assistance to low-income pantry customers.
