Certifications and Tests ------------------------- Master ASP.NET (Brainbench)- 70-229 Designing and Implementing Databases with MS SQL2000 [MCSD] ------------------------- Working experience Ares Management (Los Angeles, CA) 04.2008–till now Position: Software Developer - Developed ARCC Portfolio Management Application ARCC currently manages a portfolio of approximately 75 investments, across the Capital Structure using Microsoft Excel. The process is manually intensive and lacks scalability. In order to support ARCC’s anticipated growth, improve efficiency and scalability, reduce operational risk and provide additional functionality, the development of a Portfolio Management system for ARCC was started. The application provided insight to actual company’s expenses, budget planning, and related areas of interest. Implementation was done as a .NET 3.5 WinForms-based with FarPoint and DotNetBar library controls actively used in its UI. Application worked with MS Excel via OLE Automation and used for maintaining compatibility with legacy subsystem implemented as Excel worksheet files. Database backend was implemented on MS SQL 2005. - Developed Invoice Workflow Application web application for Ares financial&accounting departments. It allowed entering invoice and sending notification about it to assigned persons who have rights to approve or reject it. Notification was implemented via CDO + MS Outlook. Main part of application was based on ASP.NET with MSSQL 2005 as a database backend. Filters on pages with lists were implemented with AJAX. Application exceptions handling was provided with Enterprise Library Application Blocks. Database access was done with Data Access Application Block. Reporting and export to MS Excel was implemented via Crystal Reports. Object persistence was provided via NHibernate. Diagnostic’s messages and log files were generated via NLog. UI was rendered with Telerik RAD controls library. Invoice processing was done via WCF that invoked legacy system for this purpose. In addition all application was designed in a Web 2.0 style. Environment: Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition, C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, DHTML, AJAX, ASP.NET, WinForms, WCF/Remoting, NLog, NHibernate, SQL Server 2005, VSS, Telerik Controls, FarPoint Controls, DotNetBar, MVC, Design Patterns, Microsoft's Team Foundation testing framework, MS Enterprise Library Applications Blocks Ajilon Consulting 12.2006– 12.2007 Position: Senior .NET Applications Developer Development and support of intranet portal for BISYS Hedge Fund (Boston, MA). Portal was based on ASP.NET application with database at MSSQL. - Developed the BISYS eCoordinator Service, an extensible, distributed application for file conversion service of engineering design files implemented as a pair (master/slave) of Win32 services using C#, VB.NET, XML and MSMQ - Designed and implemented application as a replacement for AutoSys – control system for scheduling, monitoring and reporting on jobs (kind of workflow management and scheduler application). Replacement was written on .NET with WCF and WWF. - Created sophisticated SQL Server database to responsively handle queries (T-SQL, DTS, triggers, stored procedures, functions and optimization) and .NET data access components. - Implemented a SQL Server OLAP data warehouse for use by Cognos analysis software. - Created and maintained queries for pulling data used for reporting. Built SSIS packages to move data to database tables or Excel spreadsheets and set up SQL jobs to automatically run SSIS packages. Built and updated reports to be used by management staff. - Envisioned and built front-end for the site written in ASP.NET, AJAX, VB.NET, XML, DHTML, JavaScript. - Re-architected and re-built the clients problem document management application. The previous version led to 70% load on IIS. New version achieved expected load at about 25% CPU usage. - Developed pages with complex filtering for Crystal Reports. The most challenging feature of this step was huge volume of data to be processed (several tables with more than 20 000 000 records in each). Also Crystal Reports was deprecated later and replaced with MS Reporting Services. - Created project for evaluating how SQL 2005 would overcome limitations we had bumped into with SQL 2000. This project was developed with using of WinForms and SmartClient technology. - Developed application that provided instant financial overview for reconciliation and auditing on ASP.NET and SQL 2005. - Developed web services in C# .NET for accessing client investment data held in Oracle for local access, manipulation, and presentation. This activity occurred thru a SOAP object and an XML structure; the Excel sheet could access a Web service (.asmx), which has been developed in .NET C#. The new Excel application stored all the downloaded data in an Access database which made it possible to demonstrate the client account data in the formatted Excel sheets. - Using CLR profiling, implemented various performance improvements including reducing garbage collection processor time from 30% to 7%, reducing the amount of large objects created on the heap and reworked code bottlenecks. - Developed datapump for data exchange between their intranet site and EAGLE/PACE systems. In this project LINQ was actively used. - Created a wrapper for Direct FTP+- utility (Secure FTP protocol) and components (COM / .NET assembly) which allowed communicating with service through .NET Remoting. - Implemented setup and configuration packages for several intranet web sites (via MSI & Wise). - Successfully worked with the clients Quality Assurance team to get the Document Management application tested and ready for production under a tight deadline. - Created technical documentation covering the changes and improvements to the Document Management application. - Wrote guidelines for possible transfer&upgrade of client databases from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005. - Mentored the client’s junior team members in developing new ETL and validation workflow applications. Wrote code samples for fellow staffers. Environment: Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, DHTML. .NET Remoting/ WCF, WWF, SQL Server 2005, SSIS, DTS, VSS, MS Visio, Telerik Controls, MS Reporting Services(SSRS), MSI, Wise Setup Generator, .NET WinForms, SmartClient, MS Visual SourceSafe, SVN, MVC, Design Patterns, MS Enterprise Library Development and support of intranet portal for HR department. Portal is based on MS Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 and migration to SPPS 2007 plus Office 2007 was started but suspended. - Implemented Sharepoint webpart which shows current date & time on different time zones on Sharepoint portals. Component logic takes care of day light saving. - Developed an ASP.NET application that would dynamically generate charts based on parameters provided which can then be used within Windows SharePoint Services Sites as images. Environment: SharePoint Portal Server 2003, Windows SharePoint Services 2003, WebParts, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, DHTML. .NET WebServices, SQL Server 2000, FrontPage 2003, IIS6, Dundas Charts Used Agile methodology, test driven development and automated builds.
