Automated Offside Detection in Soccer
TJHSST
Discussed the problem of human offside detection in soccer and outlined several proposed solutions. Explained how I used the Python OpenCV library to detect players’ movement on a soccer field via frame-by-frame analysis of videos using optic flow detection and later Haar Cascades. Implemented a stable, high-accuracy 2D offside detection algorithm based on inputted key player points.
