Biography Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mary and I am 33 years old. I am a mother of two very active children. Lydia, my daughter, is 11 years old and proudly going into the sixth grade. She feels so grown up now that she will no longer be in elementary school! My son, James, is 13 and going to be in the eighth grade. He is more proud of the hair starting to grow on his upper lip than his passing seventh grade! I have had several dead end jobs, as we call them, all of which I was very good at but nothing made me feel any passion or hunger to continue long term with them. We all know how the economy has been treating us lately. Well it threw me a curve ball when I was laid off. I am currently living on unemployment and government assistance. It all covers the bills so we are ok, however I found myself still looking to find that passion, not only for myself but for the future of my children! My wonderful fiance, Santiago, is with his family in Mexico at this time and I speak to him several times a day. I have heard from him, several stories about how they get turned down for medical treatment and when they don't, the price is far to much for them to afford. That is when I felt the passion! It was like an explosion in the pit of my soul! I am starting at the bottom but I am planning to get a quality education and go to Mexico to provide some kind of alternative source for the people there so that they may receive the medical attention that they deserve!!! I am not sure precisely how I will accomplish that, whether it be attempting to sway the government in some way to provide the low income citizens with health coverage, similar to what I currently have for my family, or if I will gather some resources and put together a clinic where the under privileged families can turn when there is no where else. I just know that I believe that every breathing human being should have the right to be healthy and I want to be a part in providing that for them! That will also show my children that when you have the ability to help those in need, you should never turn you back them!
