a secure web-enabled document management, retrieval, routing, and workflow application • Prior to Project Manager role, involved heavily in development of all company applications within ASP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, Perl, Python, and PHP as Lead Developer, applying significant development experience in the Microsoft and .NET environments as well as UNIX and Linux environments • Managed the planning and development of all systems and networks within the company, including Windows and Linux server design, construction, testing, bechmarking, auditing, and documentation • Created and managed effective, modular, cross-communicating teams of employees to efficiently complete internal and external projects consistently ahead of schedule and under budget Summer 2003 (Contract) University of Delaware Allentown, PA  Senior Developer • Designed, architected, and implemented a transportation emissions analysis application in PHP.  This web-based application tracked, recorded, calculated, and graphed various transportation solutions for a large, worldwide shoe manufacturer in order to better inform them on the environmental friendliness and efficiency of their various shipments.  The application would calculate and analyze emissions of complex shipments involving several methods of transportation (e.g. oceanbound, airbound, landbound), and create aesthetic graphs with configurable criteria, contents, and axes in an entirely web-based interface.  This application was finished on-time and under budget   February 2002 – May 2003 CMU Astrophysics Department Pittsburgh, PA  Linux Systems Administrator • Repaired, upgraded, installed, and administered all computer systems and network for the Carnegie Mellon University Astrophysics Department, with a special focus on Internet security and performance, including the seamless upgrade to a benchmarked, documented, and well-tuned Gigabit-over-copper network • Provided emergency data/system recovery services to entire department, most notably reconstructing a degraded half-terabyte RAID array for the XCS project, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of research • Designed, programmed, and provided support for custom software solutions, as well as scripts, for use within the department and the larger Astrophysics community; most notably, a Perl connectivity solution between Linux (MySQL) and Microsoft SQL Server for the purpose of data mining across computing environments • Constructed a 9-node, 18-processor Beowulf-over-Gigabit cluster with parallel processing capabilities via MPI and PVM, job and task scheduling, and redundant, networked data storage • Constructed a 2.5 Terabyte ATA-RAID array from scratch within a dual-processor Xeon system running Linux. • Provided on-site user support for entire department, as well as on-call remote support May 2000 – May 2003 (contract) [login to view URL] Allentown, PA (remote)  Senior Application Developer/UNIX Administrator & Developer • Wrote intensive e-mail parsing application in Perl that locates pertinent data records related to incoming e-mail, and updates a MS SQL Server 7.0 database on separate machine with mined data from the e-mail.  This cross-platform utility represents the communication between two very disparate environments • Wrote log analysis scripts to display portions of application log files via HTTP, aiding an investigation to understand the status of various attacks on websites and web applications; later wrote custom modules for a company firewall that eliminated all attacks for the duration of my tenure •  Built, set up, and maintained Linux server upon which these scripts run, including SSH tunneling for VNC •  Wrote system log analysis software that presents critical information in all system logs to the user via a web interface, and is fully searchable, filterable, and easy to use • Developed several Windows applications in VB and C/C++ to interface with the Linux functionality Summer 2000 (contract) Shaffstall Electronic Tech.
