I am a second year law student currently on sabbatical in Latin America, conducting research for a publication I am writing on indigenous women's rights. I have four years of experience as a freelance researcher and writer. Before law school, I developed web content, pamphlets, and educational materials for non-profits and environmental organizations throughout Chicago and the Midwest. As marketing director for a small theater company, I wrote press releases and designed media kits to generate interest inupcoming performances and establish the company's presence in the local theater scene. I have contributed articles to regional and non-profit publications on topics that include the environment, health, travel, current events, faith and spirituality, art and culture, entertainment, relationships, women's issues, and vegetarian cooking. Additionally, I have performed legal research and writing on issues that include United States constitutional law, international human rights law, housing law, and immigration law and policy. Throughout my time living and working in Latin America, I have volunteered my translation services to regional non-profits, developed a bilingual guide on basic computer skills, and written a bilingual children's book in Spanish and English. Since graduating from Columbia College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Marketing and a minor in English, I have lived and worked all over the world. My diverse experiences have inspired and enriched my writing. In 2007, I worked as a hurricane relief volunteer in Biloxi, Mississippi. In early 2008, I conducted research in Sydney, Australia for several essays on theology and, in late 2008, I returned to Chicago, Illinois to started law school. In 2009, I lived and worked in Chiapas, Mexico, conducting field research for an international human rights organization and volunteering with a local indigenous women's collective. My unique background and experience writing on a wide body of topics translates into dynamic and vibrant services for my client.
