In this instance I re-modelled the assembly to produce a series of 3D prints using Selective Laser Sintering. Being unhappy with the shape and scale of the model parts I used Solidworks to model the parts before exporting them as .stl files.

My background in engineering is based on 35 years hands on experience working my way from the shop floor to becoming a proficient CAD designer and draughtsman. I have a portfolio of work both as an contractor and an employee. I can produce concept designs as well as work to client briefs in Solidworks and Autocad designing, specify and costing and progress these to detailed table and or equation driven parts, fully constrained assemblies and fully dimensioned and toleranced drawings complete with BOM's, procedures and instructions. I also have extensive experience of 2D draughting in Autocad in mechanical, joinery and some architectural. I am a creative and tactile person and have always had an enquiring mind. My career covers automotive, industrial, marine and aerospace engineering. I am now seeking to branch out as a freelance designer / draughtsman taking full advantage of the communications technology available.
