WORK EXPERIENCE Feb 2008 – Todate: Working as a Application & Software Engineer with Huawei Technologies (U) Ltd. Responsibilities: • Maintaining the proper running of IN services like PPS, EVC, and EPPC All these services run on Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g, Oracle 11g, and Informix. • Troubleshooting any problems that may arise during the daily operations of the IN network. Alarms on the OAM and errors in the logs are solved. • Planning and installing the ENIP Platform and performing version upgrades of the ENIP Platform like for Warid Telecom, i-TEL, and Kenya Telecom. • Installing the SCP, SMP, OAM for Zantel in Tanzania. • Install and maintain the AAA Server that is responsible for authenticating and billing the subscribers accessing the WiMax service. • Performing daily maintenance for ENIP and AAA platforms in Uganda Telecom, Smile Communications,iTEL and Warid Telecom Projects Worked Upon: • Installed and maintained the SCP, OAM, PPS service, SMP, SMAP for iTEL. • Maintaining the Intelligent Network and Data Service Network for iTEL. • Performed version upgrades and backup for the ENIP Platform and PPS service upgrades and backup for Warid Telecom. The ENIP platform has Informix has its database platform. • Installed the AAA Server for the EV-DO project MTN- Uganda. The AAA Server has Oracle 10g has its platform database. • Installed and configured the Storage Array S3100 for Smile and MTN Uganda. • Installed and configured Storage Management Software SANtricity9.19 • Installed and maintained the OceanStor Manager Suite on Solaris Operating System for MTN Uganda EV-DO project. • Working on the WiMAX project in UTL. Responsible for maintaining the AAA server. • Maintaining the SMSC, WAPGW, and MMSC of Warid Telecom. • Maintaining the MDSP and WAPGW of Uganda Telecom Ltd. March, 2005 – Jan 2008: Worked as an IT Instructor at Lakana IT Consultants. Responsibilities: • Provide technical expertise and support in database systems and associated management software. • Training clients on how to use Relational Database Management System (RDMS) Software like Microsoft Access and Oracle 9i Database. • Training end-users on the installed systems to enhance their efficiency. • Provide end-user support to clients. August, 2004 – December, 2004: Part of the group that designed a database system, Student Manager for the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Kyambogo University during my internship. Responsibilities: • Developed and implemented complex data models and logical database designs. • Performed routine, customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure the database environment is stable and capable of meeting ongoing business needs. • Evaluated technology and techniques to implement and maintain databases and database environment.
