I'm a translator with ample experience in Film and Television translation, as well as in the related fields of musical adaptation and subtitling. I specialise in bringing a human "feel" to my translations, and can apply my unique experience to your literary, cinematic, or, indeed, any creative projects that would benefit from linguistic content rich in metaphor and imagination. I've translated critically acclaimed films for the Spanish market, such as “A Guide To Recognising your Saints” “The Wind that Shakes the Barley” “Young at Heart”, "August Rush", “Murderball” and many more. I’m Ken Loach’s translator of choice. I also work as a simultaneous translator, and consecutive translator. Apart from this, my other area of expertise is music technology. I freelance for a number of music distributors in Spain, and I translate for musical instrument publications. My philosophy on translation is offered in the following parameters. My paramount concern is to capture the tone and stylistic idiosyncrasies of the text, and to approach the mindset of the original writer. I have a well-honed sense of economy in wordage due to my many years of translating and adapting scripts for dubbing. I'm also very familiar with html editing and web-specific requirements. I believe that close communication with the customer is of vital importance, and that informing him or her of the multiple linguistic choices is a crucial part of achieving a final result that is most faithful to the original work.
