After Effects Cloud Experiment - Particles
Watch HD video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi0qXbtbdMc This motion graphics piece is a result of experimenting with a particle plugin called Trapcode Particular. I wasn't aiming for fully realistic clouds since I like to keep a slight unrealistic/fictional touch in my work and going for realism requires quite different tools and workflows. As you might notice from the preview video I used quite big particles and not so many of them so the render time is only about two hours on a rather basic $1000 desktop computer. To achieve constantly moving smooth cloud I used a few custom particles which were cloud images created in Photoshop and then imported into After Effects. Then I applied some distortion effects to the custom particle layer to make it move in a "smoky" way. Rest of the video is created using basic techniques like gradients for background, optical flares etc. Audio is also composed by myself.
