Raised in Detroit, Michigan, Mary Pryor received exposure to automotive design, electrical engineering and marketing at an early age. Within her first year at the University of Michigan -Ann Arbor, she landed an internship at Radio One, an urban/adult contemporary radio station in Detroit, Michigan. Holding various responsibilities, including assistant promotions coordinator, talent relations for music festivals, celebrity events production, and even working directly with the Director of Programming, adding new formats and the inclusion of new music from undiscovered artists. When faced with the opportunity to expand her skill set, she seized the chance to move to Los Angeles, CA in order to work in music video production, editing, and casting at HSI Productions. While in Los Angeles she worked on set with directors Benny Boom, Little X, Chris Robinson, David La Chappelle, and assisted with casting for Paul Hunter. The roster of artists that Mary has worked with reads like a “who’s who” in popular music – 50 Cent, Kelis, 112, Sean Combs, Blink 182, Jane’s Addiction, Madonna, Britney Spears, Elephant Man, the cast of the film “Rize”, Beyonce, and Alicia Keys have all benefited from her video production prowess. Upon graduation with a degree in Communications, African American Studies, and Film, she moved to Washington D.C. to pursue a career in education. She taught and mentored private and public school students, developing young adult self-improvement programs for non-profit organizations. During this period, Mary created a female focused program targeting negative stereotypes, deciphering media messages, and learning about the various beauty and marketing industries that target young women in communities of color. It was during her tenure in D.C., that she branched out and developed her own image consulting and marketing firm, WeFancy Consulting Agency, in 2008. Seasoned and having amassed a wide range of expertise through various career, internship and consultant opportunities with Radio One, HSI Productions, Chanel, SONY, Music World, UPTOWN Magazine, Studio Distribution, New York Stock Exchange, MusicWorld, FUSE TV and currently Centric (formerly BET J) part of BET Networks/Viacom; Mary’s ultimate career goal is to provide online branding, digital trend-forecasting, marketing, and image consulting on a fulltime level for a multimedia brand. Her talent, opportunities and a gift for being a “Jill of all trades” would be best beneficial within any situation, challenge or environment throughout the digital space. [login to view URL]
