Challenges faced on iBillionaire: * Create a Django app * Implement an API using Django Rest Framework * Create an iOS app * Create a React Native app and publish iOS and Android versions to the stores * Integrate with Apex clearing to allow users to Invest (open an account, add funds, trade) use Celery to manage the retry logic for API errors. * Implement a price service using web socket to provide real time price data to the apps. In 2020 iBillionaire was brought by Albert The whole team (8 persons - 5 developers) joined the company, I was in charge of managing the Technical side of the Investing product. Challenged faced: * Create a new service for the Investing product (we had a monolith repo and services with multiple products) this allows the Investing product to have his own deployment pipeline (i.e we couldn't deploy to the trading service during market hours), independent scalability, also improved development speed as we work as a separate unit in the company. * Refactor the iOS app, the app was abusing inheritance, (read a base class that called an update UI method for every change for all the products, so the responsiveness of the app was extremely degraded in the Investing product given the dynamics of the different features - real-time prices, transfers, trades) The mentioned refactor included the use of Combine along with Realm to create a flawless data-driven-UI-update system) * Set the architecture to adopt Dark mode on iOS
