The background and effects are just examples of how the logo can be used, the main creation is the design, typography and concept. I saw this contest today, so I didn't had enough time to ask you more about the game to create a logo that better translate the concept. I've made a generic logo based on the description, but know more about the plot could help to make decisions like use serif or non-serif fonts and alien-terror or galactical war approach, for example.
