I want you to design a logo for a project called "Sacrificial Kaleidoscope".
I have a pretty clear idea of the components that I want within the logo, but I need your talent to realise the final product.

So,

The Sacrificial Kaleidoscope logo is an illustration of a small red/orange kaleidoscope, with the eyepiece facing away from the viewer and the opening toward them.

It's at an angle in the y-axis ('left-right') relative to the viewer so that the length of the scope is visible. The kaleidoscope itself is being struck by a bolt of (black?) lightning which is breaking it in half. There's a crack through part of the toy, emanating from where the lightning bolt makes contact, but not all the way through.
It's in the process of breaking apart, but is not in two complete pieces.
We are witnessing a tiny moment in time, a split-second image taken from an imaginary animation of a toy kaleidoscope being smote from above by a powerful force.

It would need to be visually appealing, even when viewed at a small size (as an avatar image on a social media site, for example) so necessitates a fairly simple design.

I have attached some photos of a real toy kaleidoscope as a starting reference.

I do not want a copy of that toy, specifically the multi-coloured sticker on the rotating section should not be included in the final design. Simple, block colours are what is required.

Or feel free to completely subvert what I have written. If the phrase 'Sacrificial Kaleidoscope' brings forth an idea that is nothing like what I have requested, don't hold back. I might just love it.

Hi everyone who has worked on this contest. Thank you for your hard work and all your entries.
I have failed to 'keep a close eye on my messages' as I wrote in the brief. Working >40 hours in a full time, highly physical job will do that to a person. I am sorry.
I am extending the contest for 3 more days, so if you have an entry that you are yet to submit, please go ahead and do that.
I received an email during the week saying that someone had posted a message to the project 'clarification board' but I can't find that board. Can anybody help?
