It is the African Intellectual Property Organization,they are an intergovernmental organisation that supports intellectual property rights across the continent.

I have attached some additional information about the client. Ai,eps.,jpeg.,png,psd,all supported files are needed at the end.

Additional comment:
We were hoping to avoid the map of Africa in the logo
The two ideas I had are 1) ARIPO has what are called 8 mandates which are the areas they want to support and secondly they want to reach out to a new audience and be seen as the conduit to protecting intellectual property in Africa, so what if we had a concept that played on the idea of building brides to possibilities in Africa and tying it in with the 8 areas (attached image) which could be represented by some symbol...like stars or some other shape 2) I like the human element idea , so what if we had one which has the same impact has the one for the flower company (attached image): the idea of showing aripo as protecting human innovation and ensuring its success...their old design has the wheel which is symbolic of innovation since its a gear..what can we use to symbolize innovation.. 3) finally all the designs should say AFRICA REGIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ORGANIZATION.
