The specifications and overall idea for this site have been revised, so please read through all specs & the attached spreadsheet prior to bidding.
If you cannot complete this project within the specified time frame and budget, DO NOT BID.
*Virtual Swim Coach - Customized Swimming Workouts*
The general concept behind this site: To allow swimmers to create their own swim workouts, while having the time intervals for each workout automatically calculated for them based on their specific swimming ability.
I would like this site to have a social network aspect to it similar to RunKeeper. Please check out [url removed, login to view] for ideas on what the layout should look like. Also, see the attached images for screenshots and examples of RunKeeper's login & news feed.
Sign Up/Login - See [url removed, login to view] screenshot for what the initial login page should look like. Integrate Facebook Login that will allow users to use their Facebook accounts to sign up and login each time they visit. Also allow Virtual Swim Coach to post activities to Facebook walls (and Twitter as well).
Once registered, users should be taken to an introduction page that has one instructional video showing how the site works and how to get started. Below this instructional video should be a form allowing the user to add/edit personal details of their account. Input boxes needed here are listed below...
Virtual Swim Coach referred to as "VSC"
-Username
-Password (confirm Password)
-Connect to Facebook (3rd party app connection)
-Connect to Twitter (3rd party app connection)
-Allow VSC to post activities/workouts to Facebook/Twitter? (check boxes)
"Establish Your Swimming Ability"
(Users enter their times for specific distances & strokes in these input boxes. This is used as the reference for the workout application when customizing the workouts as users create them)
"Select a time from each drop-down menu that most accurately reflects your training times for each event below. Training times should be based on you swimming at 75% of your race pace for each particular event."
-100 Freestyle
-50 Backstroke
-50 Breaststroke
-50 Butterfly
-100 Individual Medley
-100 Free Kick (w/ board)
-100 Free Pull (w/ bouy)
After filling out all personal details, there should be a two buttons below. The first says "Create A Workout" (takes users to workout creator) and the second should say "Activity Feed" (brings users to their home page, similar to RunKeeper - screenshot [url removed, login to view])
The workout application used within this site should be based on the given specs in the attached excel spreadsheet. (Please read all notes within the spreadsheet as they explain each aspect of the application)
Workouts should be saved under each users profile so they can review older workouts at a later time. Also, the distance & overall pace from each workout should be used in the analytics section of the site. With this users can see how many yards/meters they swam each week and compare their performance to past weeks.
There should also be a "Race" section of the website where users can enter results from recent swim meets & track their times from meet to meet.
The budget for this project will be capped at $1,000 because that is all I can afford at this time, BUT if you would like to explore profit-sharing options for the site, that option will be on the table as well.
Specific timelines will be established once a developer is chosen, but I would like to have a working beta version available within 4-weeks.
This site will be free at first, but the option for recurring monthly billing needs to be taken into consideration. The blog that is currently on the root domain will be moved to /blog and the membership site will be placed on the root domain.
Note: You must provide actual samples of your work as well as ideas for how you would like to proceed prior to your bid being accepted. Also, if you're not asking questions, its highly unlikely you will be chosen for this project.
