It looks as though I'm unable to use things like frames or javascript on myspace for a widget. So what I would like to do (if possible) is use flash to create a widget for people to leave in people's comments on myspace, etc.
The flash widget that is being created must be compatible with myspace and should ultimately allow the viewer of the 'widget' to click to view the profile of the person who posted the widget code.
Visit: [url removed, login to view] for an example of what I created, although there's no way to get something like this into a myspace comment. It does give you an idea of what I'm looking for.
I want people to see something and be intrigued to visit my website and register or even just view the profile of the person who posted the widget. The example URL I posted above highlights the daddy X video that the Kottonmouth Kings created us, as well as some news links, it also shows our flash poll which keeps track if you've already voted, etc. and it shows some of the recently registered members. Our logo can be seen and we use the same colors as the rest of the site. There is a link for members to join as well as view some common areas of the site such as see 'Online Users'.
I imagine the best way would be to use a chron to somehow update a cached dynamic image or something like that.
Please post your ideas for a widget for [url removed, login to view] in the PMB and based on experience, price, and creativity/enthusiasm, I will choose the bidder I believe will provide me with the best finished widget. Perhaps some of you have ideas to put into the widget that I have not mentioned or haven't yet thought about. One great idea would be to place a link somehow on the flash widget for users to get the code to repost the comment without the page reloading, etc.
I'm not 100% familiar with what can be done with Flash but I have a feeling just about everything I mentioned can be done. Thanks!
