I would like to develop a library or service to be used by an external application to access social network API's to perform functions such as login, download profile, find friends, get stream.
This initial project will only be developing login functionality via Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google. The rest will be developed upon successful completion of this piece.
Any linux-friendly language is acceptable: Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP.
The library will be integrated with a perl application, so a bridge, if necessary, will be required. Developing it as a web service with an XML API is a good option.
A successful candidate must be very familiar with social network API's. Existing demos and code samples are required to get the contract. Utilization of existing open source libraries for the task is strongly preferred.
Good working knowledge of perl is preferred.
This project will be ongoing for a while and much more to come if you are able to complete the task well.
To apply, please be specific to the project. Include demos of social network plugins you have developed - where a site is interacting with Facebook, or another social network. Include your estimate and description of what would be entailed in developing a login library, including any 3rd party tools or libraries you would utilize. Describe your level of knowledge with the individual API's.
