[ASP.NET] Silverlight + WCF Solution Example

I have a need for a chat interface, written in silverlight, that mimics AJAX. The chat application should:

* Be like an mIRC chat room.

* Use a WCF service to get various information (users that are online, recent chat messages, a call to insert a chat message [which will be a stored procedure call].

* Workable solution from an asp.net page.

* The application should accept a username and a password which will be used to initially authenticate. The user will not supply this, it will be done via a cookie.

* I will be using mySQL as the database backend.

** 10-20% Bonus if the interface is exceptional. Exceptional qualifies as very eye appealing such that I do not have to make many GUI interface changes.

Ultimately, this is because I was unable to get a working silverlight application to communicate with a WCF service. I would like to pay for one so that I can learn about silverlight by looking at a solution that I need.
