A system administrator is wanted to assist a small company set up, secure, and manage a mid to high end Linux server designed to serve a 100 websites.
Additionally you will be able to use cPanel, which makes things even easier, and will allow me to do a lot of the mundane work.
The skills that are needed are:
+ To secure the server from hijacks/Trojans/viruses etc.
+ To implement those programs that will monitor against brute force and other attacks
+ To maintain a history log of activity on the server
+ Assist developers when they need settings on the server/site changed
+ To provide recommendations to me on how to optimize and improve our systems
+ To review, suggest, and implement backup strategy to secure against loss
+ Must be familiar in installation / maintenance of postgre, joomla, php, Linux, and Apache.
Besides the above skills, the person selected will also need to
+ Able to speak and converse in English
+ Be responsive to emails (4 to 8 hr)
+ Complete jobs in a reasonable time
+ Pro-active in suggesting improvements – don’t just do what you have been told if you think there is a better way of doing things.
