Need a program to pull historical data and update each day from yahoo finance (.csv). It would be sufficient for the program to need to be prompted each day. The program needs to pull the data and make some calculations based on several parameters. The parameters include a series of ticker symbols, a moving average based on X days. The program then needs to calculate a % change from day to day or minute to minute over a series of days. The program will use the % change data to calculate an average, and standard deviation. The program should then be able to output values or a range +/- X*deviation and +/- Y*deviation from the average or the average + or - Z*deviation. It would be nice if the program output this data in an excel file. Would like it in python.
Based on how this goes there may be a desire to build or do other similar work. Ideally, I would eventually like to create a program that implements an algorithm to perform trades automatically on a trading platform. Python is preferred for this program because many of the trading program integrate with python.
