Autodesk Autocad has a javascript API. I need my lisp program to interact with this program. What I'm doing is building a license server to protect my lisp program for authorized users:
I don’t know if you can “pass” and “return” values to javascript subroutines. Every language I’ve ever known, you could. But I don’t know. Assuming you can, I see 2 routines.
1) Pass it a file name, have it return the first 3 lines of the file in text. Delineate the three lines in some way so I know where the separations are. Return ‘nil’ if the files doesn’t exist.
2) Pass it a file name and 1-4 lines of text. In lisp, this would be a list of text lines. The program appends the files with the text at the bottom. If the variability is difficult, writing one line would suffice, then I would call it 1-4 times.
I'm not sure where/how these files would be stored. I would need suggestions. We have our website hosted somewhere and have thought about storing them among the website files.
If it could do all this without downloading/uploading the files, that would be great. Do all this at the remote storage? Fantastic!
