I worked with an Advocate and assisted the company in making various kinds of drafts such divorce case, petitions, legal notices, reply to legal notices, etc. Filing of writs in registrar office. I joined SourceHOV India Private Limited as an Associate in the year 2015 and from there my journey as a “Legal Editor” started. Synopsis writing for project - Westlaw Court Wire (US-based legal content aggregator for various law firms). Writing synopsis from plaintiff side (Complaints which are filed in court / A plaintiff starts a civil action by filing a pleading called a complaint). Complaints were of Civil Nature. Complaints from U.S. State and Federal Courts which were linked with their respective Nature of Suit (NOS) Codes. After that, I worked as Legal Editor with Coingeit Technologies Private Limited. Writing legal headnotes / summarization of case for two projects i.e. Westlaw India and Wolters Kluwers (India). Working on Westlaw India product and Wolters Kluwers (India); playing a significant role in contribution of its content. Summarizing judgments into crisp & concise headnotes. Review & analyse case laws to identify disposition of the case, language, point of law & determine precedential value to support online legal research. Writing headnotes for Lower Court, High Court and Supreme Court judgments. Vetting of headnotes prepared by other team members / freelancers. Perform high quality assurance tasks. Review accuracy and completeness of legal material. Shifting through volumes of data and having analytical bent to identify and cull out the relevant content. Then I worked as Proofreader-cum-Headnote Writer with Accidents Claims Journal. Analysis and selection of the judgments of Supreme Court and all High Courts on matters pertaining to Motor Insurance, Accidents, Tort, Medical Negligence, Insurance Claims, Workmen's Compensation Claims, etc. Copy editing of the judgments. Preparing Synopsis/Headnotes of the Judgments. Preparing topic-wise compendium of the case-laws reported in the journal (monthly and quarterly). Preparing an alphabetically arranged list of cases reported in the journal (monthly and quarterly). Lastly, I worked as Lead - Legal Content Writing with Newgen DigitalWorks Pvt. Ltd.
