My background is Creative Writing, Theatre Arts, Interior Architecture, and entrepreneurship. I was born in Korea and graduated from an international high school in Ho Chi Minh City. I studied poetry/novels/screenplays/literary translation intensively while majoring in Creative Writing in Seoul. After graduation, I studied Theatre Arts, Interior Architecture and entrepreneurship in NYC and LA. I also briefly worked/lived in London. (A native Korean who’s familiar with both American and British English) Here’s my position on translating: - It’s a real translation if it conveys not only the meaning but also the intention. If you can’t hear/see the creator’s voice/vision over text, it is a wrong translation. To me, translating is about creating art. - As a cosmopolitan, it’s like a calling to deliver information between people of different cultures. - I believe efficiency makes a great work. Although I have a normal typing speed, I’m faster than anyone else in creative problem solving. This is the result of more than 10 years of training, you can count on me if you want to get things done quickly. I’m always open to feedback and punctual and I truly enjoy reading, writing, watching, listening, and translating ANY topic! TL;DR: I love art and translation is like art to me, not work. I’m trained, responsible, and fast.
