I'm seeking a proficient developer with experience in both Arduino and Raspberry PI, to aid in porting my MIDI hardware controller with a touch screen interface to raspberry PI. The successful candidate will be experienced in Arduino, Python and Python UI, and have knowledge of PI input and output hardware IO messaging.

I will work with you to port this over, with input of UI design (yes this visual look will be vague to start with, so we can orbit around and find the more ergonomic design - so there will be a need to get the code framework right to start with, to allow changes)
I am looking for someone with 'easy to read' coding. I am not a software engineer (elec eng), so like my code simple for my simple mind (I would also like to make additions at a later date - so need it easy for me to understand).
You will need a raspberry PI with touch screen (or if you are local (Australia) I can supply you with one).
You might ask - why I am wanting this to be made, given all the other DAW's out there - and yes they are very similar. However once you get involved you'll better understand why the ground up build and design.
I am working on other projects - so I looking for someone who is easy to communicate with, goal orientated, and loves good engineering - as if this goes well, I have lots of other fun software work - should you wish to do more. I am not looking for a company that farms work out - but a curious engineer.
Payment will be split into milestones, with the first milestone being the focus of this bid (with expectation that you'll be able to continue with subsequent bids.
Milestone 1:
Basic replication of Hardware screen grid (visual and interaction equivalent), and basic loop functionality (playing, saving, loading).
Milestone 2:
Upgrading UI to classical piano roll style, with visual layout changes and refinements. Inclusion of existing looping functionality (recording, composer-mode, transposing, phasing etc)
Milestone 3: Future Work.
