Format FreeAgent DevKit CSS based invoice to summarise expense entries to one line

Needs Freeagent invoice devkit knowledge.
Freeagent (accounting software) has only two basic invoice options, to include expenses or not. If you include them, you get the line level detail. I want to have them included as a single line summarising all expenses. I believe this may be possible using the Freeagent DevKit which lets you use custom CSS to format the invoice. The result gets delivered as a PDF automatically in FreeAgent. Must have Freeagent DEVKit experience
note FreeAgent only uses CSS 2.1 not CSS 3
freeagent usage of CSS is explained here in their blog. The purpose of the DevKit is so you can see how their PDF renderer processes the CSS, so while not totally necessary the DevKit should reduce unexpected outcomes.
