I am self-employed researching a product idea, a new kind of zip and will need an industrial design engineer with expertise in mechanical engineering and materials, knowledge of basic electronics, and a good grasp about how the everyday zip works.
The job is to build a manufacture-ready prototype of our zip concept using CAD modelling. We will require a simulation demonstration of material strength to verify design choices using techniques such as FEA as well as physical proof of prototypes. It is important to have someone with active communication skills for this role as it may require two-way feedback in design iteration.
Note that the successful candidate will have experience in systems design involving mechanics, materials and electronics. This is quite involved as a design project and requires someone who has past work in millimeter scale mechanics.
