PhoneGap Secure Login

Hello All. I am a solid BI company in Brazil wich provides web-based information to my clients via web browser. Today, basically my customers log in to my web page and I can provide customized information they want using my software solutions. My web based secure login is based in php, which works very well for its proposes. Also very secure. I am moving forward and I would like to provide to my customers the same experience they already have in a web browser in a Ipad and Iphone app. I my mind today, I found in phonegap the perfect solution to deliver to my customers the IOs and Android apps, since I can build the applications for IPad and IPhone using html and jquery mobile, which I already have experts in place. My big concern is how to link my database that is already working to a phonegap app since it does not accepts php files. How can I create a secure login using my existing Mysql database in a IOs or Android app using phonegap? Is phonegap the best solution to my business to develop IOS and Android apps? I need more than a developer, I need a consultant to be a partner for a very emerging market, which is BI and mobile apps in Brazil.
