Catia Design Task
Figure 1 (see appendix) shows a total head probe, part number 856MB, which is to be fitted to a commercial aircraft. Figure 3 shows a section of fuselage skin to which the head is to be fitted.
Your task is to design the following:
1)The mounting arrangement of the probe to the skin. The probe is a standard item and may not be modified; however, additional components may be attached to it, provided the probe can still be replaced as a unit.
2)The routing of a flexible pipe and electrical de-icing supply, to mate with the connectors shown, together with connectors, clips and supports as required. The flexible pipe, of 1/4ʺ OD and 1/8ʺ bore, and the cable are to be routed aft, parallel to the stringers. The pipe and cable are to be specified by the designer.
3)3D CAD model of the Total Head Probe using Figure 1 & 2. However, you are not required to produce any 2D technical drawings.
The mounting is generally straightforward, but several points require attention:
• Access to the inside of the skin is available during initial assembly, but the design should be such that the unit can be changed from the outside, so sufficient manoeuvrability should be allowed for the pipe and cable.
• The fuselage is pressurised to a maximum value of 6.5 psi above local atmospheric pressure, so the installation must be sealed and capable of withstanding the loads generated.
• The installation must be secure and resistant to the effects of vibration. The mass of the probe, if poorly supported, could cause it to vibrate, so some reinforcement of the skin is advisable. Ensure that any fasteners used are suitable for aerospace applications, and that nuts, etc. cannot be lost inside the aircraft during servicing.
• The 28V DC electrical supply to the probe will draw a maximum continuous current of 6A.
You should show important dimensions on parts, but they do not need to be fully dimensioned. A parts list should be included on your drawing, prepared in such a way as to give an adequate definition of all parts. Include manufacturer name and part number where available.
The design must be in Inches and weight must be given in lbs.
You must produce an Assembly Drawing showing:
1)Assembly Notes/Instruction.
2)BOM (with any relevant information).
3)Un-exploded view of the assembly.
4)Exploded view showing the components used for the assembly.
5)Appropriate placement of the balloons to identify all the parts/sub-assemblies.
6)Drawing sheet numbers as required.
You must produce part drawings of all the parts you have design conforming to British Standards 8888:2017
1)Correct scale selection on the appropriate views and the title block along with any annotation.
2)Correct selection of sheet size and border.
3)Correct information in title block with an appropriate size of the title block relevant to the sheet size.
4)All the correct and appropriate dimensions of the part. Use one decimal place for dimensions of the part on the drawing, e.g. 10.1, 25.3 etc.
5)Any section views, detail views, part section views, broken views etc.
Note: The drawing package must contain:
i)No fewer than two orthogonal projection views
ii)An isometric view with an appropriate scale.
iii)Title block should include all the essential information like material, the angle of projection, assignment name, weight etc. Use Imperial units for dimensioning.
iv)Part drawings of all the parts you have designed.
After you are satisfied with the amount of information on the drawing, save the 2D drawing file in PDF format using the ‘save as’ facility on the CAD software or printo to pdf. The file name should be [login to view URL]

Hello!
Well familiar with mechanics and 3D modeling, I can create a design for you.
If you provide 2D design images, I can make 3D models fomr them.
Producing other information is not difficult.
I would like to discuss more details with you.
Best regards
