Busy Web Firm Needs First-String Designer / Flash Programmer For Ongoing Work (Retainer Basis)

Small but extremely busy web design firm near Nashville, TN needs a freelance designer for steady, ongoing relationship. MUST BE BASED IN THE USA - OVERSEAS FIRMS NEED NOT APPLY! PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES! The ideal applicant will be an individual willing to do to "full time" work for us on a contract basis. You are certainly still free to do other projects on the side, but the amount of work we will be feeding this designer is easily a full-time job. We will pay a (fair and sizeable) flat "retainer" fee in exchange for this designer to do all the work we feed them. Our deadlines are strict, so the designer needs to be self-motivated, and able to deliver projects on time. You'll set your own hours, but we need someone not afraid to work after hours and weekends when necessary. We will also have daily deadlines that must be met. We are careful not to overload our designers. We do, however, keep them busy on most days and we expect that deadlines be met in a timely manner. Although the lines above sound harsh, we are a fairly easygoing group of people with plenty of fun projects to work on. A lot of our clients are entertainment / music based (pop, country, contemporary and rock) but we also work for more stiff customers like banks, real estate agents and budding dot-coms. A typical day would look like this... Log into AIM for ongoing communication with your project manager in Nashville, recap the projects for the day, then do your thing for several hours until you have something ready to show our art directors! You may need to be available for periodic conference calls with clients as well. It's absolutely necessary that the applicant posess the following traits: 1: Must NOT have a "day job". You must be a full-time on-your-own freelance web designer. 2: Must not aspire to have a day-job. This is a permanent retained position for a contractor. We don't want to lose someone who wants to work a 9-to-5! 3: Must have a portfolio and references that we can check 4: Must have a DEEP knowledge of Flash and Actionscript 5: Must be able to edit HTML by hand. Visual editors are fine when quick-and-dirty is all that's needed (dreamweaver, etc. - NOT FRONTPAGE) but we need someone who knows HTML and can write it from scratch if necessary 6: Good knowledge of CSS and Javascript. 7: Applicant would be an individual, or a 2 (at most 3) man/woman team. Larger "companies" need not apply. In a nutshell, this person will need to be a well-rounded "web guy" who knows their way around Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and other web technologies. If you're a one-man web shop but just don't have enough business to pay your bills, this could be an answered prayer for you. And we're much easier to work with than this ad might indicate. :)
