I need someone who is an experienced fashion designer to help me turn my athletic apparel ideas into reality. I need someone who can design and oversee the development of a sample. I'm producing a line of female running and cycling apparel that is sexy and functional (think the best of LuLuLemon and Nike but is good for the environment). This will involve producing a: Conceptual Design - I want to work with you to nail down the aesthetics, shape, and to finalize the idea Technical Design - You will use the conceptual design to produce a tech pack Requirements: B.A. in Fashion Design (specific experience in outerwear and athletic apparel a plus). Minimum two years experience in FASHION design and product development Previous experience sourcing fabric and eco-friendly materials (e.g., Tencel, bamboo fabrics, etc.) Strong technical skills in Illustrator/Photoshop and CAD Pattern Design software for preparing technical drawings, garment construction and pre-production Relationships with factories that can produce a sample and small run production. All applicants MUST include current portfolio of work. We won't consider you if you don't have a working portfolio.

Hi there, I am very interested in your project! I am a womens sportswear designer from the UK, now based in Auckland. After my BA fashion design degree was completed, I realised how much I enjoyed designing sportswear so I moved to Germany to begin designing at Adidas. I started at Adidas interning in the swim department, I then moved to Puma where I designed Beachwear, Casuals, outerwear jackets and track suits. I am very capable in creating mens and womens designs and know everything there is from creating a collection start to finish. I am very experienced with drawing technical drawings ( we did a lot of these! ) and creating spec sheets. I would love to hear more about your project, in terms of how many designs you are looking for. The only thing I would add is that the manufacturing factories we used at Puma were huge and only worked on huge quantities. So the minimum would be 1000 per style. I would have to research and look into smaller factories for this side of your project. Thank you, Jess
