I've got R up and running on AWS using EMR / EC2 and bootstrapping from an S3 bucket, following the tutorial at [login to view URL] with a modified bootstrapping script, see attached. It correctly installs some of the extra R packages I need, but fails to install the final and crucial one, rEDM. Attached is an e-mail conversation which discusses the issue. rEDM has since been added to the CRAN repository.
I had the same problem installing rEDM on my laptop, and resolved it by making a script in the bin folder called g++ with the contents:
#! /bin/sh
/usr/bin/g++ -std=c++11 $*
My latest attempt has been to upload the g++ script to the master EC2 server, but I must not be putting it in the right directory of the server because it makes no difference when I attempt to install rEDM from the server's R console.
The objective of this project is a modification of the bootstrapping script that successfully installs rEDM.
