Help writing SQL query to parse data from MYSQL

We're stuck in development and need some quick help. We're working on writing an SQL query to parse data from a MYSQL database for use in the wpDataTable Wordpress plugin. Specifically, we're stuck on how to remove house and unit numbers from an address string while keeping street names (some of which contain numerics) intact. Examples from the LOCATION column of a table: 123 6th Street BUILDING NAME 345 8th Street 832 Hopeless Street 732 1st Avenue Unit 12 466 BUILDING NAME 2nd Street Unit 8 832 BUILDING NAME 5th Ave 15 In each case, we want to keep 6th Street, 8th Street, 1st Avenue, 2nd Street, etc. etc. respectively, while removing all other numbers to provide some level of anonymity for publishing. We suspect the easiest way to go about this is to remove all substrings separated by spaces which contain a number not accompanied by a letter, but are unsure how to go about it. This has to be done as part of the SQL query and not as a function in some other script etc. We basically need someone how knows more about writing SQL queries than we do to help us over this hurdle, and suspect someone with more in-depth knowledge should be able to get this done in a matter of minutes.
