Create a complete Website, with shopping cart

Project: Create a Windows-platform website for my company called Business Greeting Cards, which sells greeting cards to businesses. The website MUST be viewable and useable by both Explorer and Netscape browsers. It will also have a suitable shopping cart, which you will supply as part of the website design and creation. I will provide all text on all pages. I will provide all greeting card designs. I am also open to your suggestions as to what will make thwe site look better and more functional and customer friendly. I will be continually available for input and consultations to speak up your work. ## Deliverables Before you read further, go to our competitor’s website _www.cardsdirect.com_ and take a look at that website. Click on a card or two to see how it works. See what the options are as you start to complete an order. My site will not be as cluttered or as complex as Cards Direct, but it does show how mine would work. My site would have a simple look to it, more like _http://www.bottman.com_. The artwork and colors will be different. Currently I have about 46 designs, totaling about 100 versions, to be posted on our new site. What I mean by “versions?? is that the same art image (or photo) might be used for a Birthday Card and for a Get Well Card. Only the cover words and inside message would be different. I would need about a dozen information pages which have tabs either along the top or down the left side of the home page. Plus all the pages needed for products (cards). There will be about 8 thumbnails on each page. I am also open to suggestions as to changes in page structures or content. There will be a shopping cart to process orders. I will not be using the Purehost shopping cart. You can use any quality, off-the-shelf shopping cart that will meet the needs of this website as I have expressed them. Order information will be held in the database on the site. The program will have to send me an email telling me that there is an order there. IThe shopping cart processing will require SSL to submit the order information along with credit card information to be stored in the database. The Administrator login to view the orders will also need to use SSL because of the credit card numbers being pulled from the database. The web hosting company will be Purehost.com. Their phone number is 877 440-7873 if you need other technical questions answered. How ordering would work: When a customer clicks on a card thumbnail the photo expands and the inside message also would appear beside it. 1. If the customer wishes to buy this card, he can enter the quantity desired, minimum is 100 cards (a subtotal appears). 2. ONLY IF ORDERING 250 OR MORE - then he scrolls down and has the option of entering his name and company imprint (up to 4 lines) or not imprint the cards (an updated subtotal appears). 3. ONLY IF ORDERING 250 OR MORE - then he scrolls down further and has the option of imprinting the return address on the envelopes (up to 4 lines), or not imprinting the envelopes (an updated subtotal appears). 4. Then he scrolls down and selects a shipping method (About 4 choices, each with a different price). 5. Then he scrolls down and checks off if a California company, if so, sales tax is added. (Or, better yet, if “CA?? is selected in the address information, tax is automatically added.) 6. Then he selects "add to shopping cart." 7. This purchase shows in the shopping cart. He then has the option to select “Continue Shopping?? to add additional cards and repeat steps 1 - 6 with each additional card selected, or he can check out. Then he enters his name and company information and credit card information. **How this site differs from the _Cards Direct_ website as follows:** To keep my cost low to design this website, my site will be less complex, with less features, less choices and less cards: A. Unlike Cards Direct, my site will have a simple home page, with tabs on top, and buttons down the left side, and a main panel with our sales pitches in it. B. I won’t need a search feature. C. When you click on a card, we will not have a choice of verse. Every card has its own verse, as shown, and there is no choice. D. There are no “Help?? buttons when moving through steps 1 - 6. E. There is no zoom feature for picture enlargements I will furnish all the text for all the pages; you would create a background for all the pages that is colorful and cheery. I will furnish all the images for all the cards, which are in Illustrator format. You will have to sign a legal statement indicating that you will not give these images to anyone in any way. You will need to adjust these card photos to change them from 300 dpi to 72 dpi so that they look good on a computer screen, but if someone downloads them they would not be professional print quality, they would only be 72 dpi. There are also some simple changes in some cards. For example, a card image might have an image of a house and say “Congratulations.?? I might have you change the words to “Thank You.?? Just simple alterations like that. I am not asking you to design or redesign greeting cards for me. The web site needs to be a simple-to-use, simple-to-upgrade program. I, as the Administrator, need to be able to upgrade all pages and all card designs. I will want to change prices, remove certain cards, and add other cards. The software needs to be a current version of a popular program. Also, if it is important to you, I would give you website design recognition, probably at the bottom of the home page, in about 10 point type: “This website was designed by ….?? Let me know what name (or company) you want listed there. The software and design will be owned and copyrighted by me, as “Business Greeting Cards.?? Catch-all requirement: Obviously this is to be a professional-looking and professionally-working website. I cannot include all the details that make it as such. But it must be attractive (I will give my input), and function well. As you design this site I will be available to give input as often as you need, and we will go back and forth with information needed to create this site. Except for the option below, your bid includes all costs, including, but not limited to, software, shopping cart, design work, database design, and any other related cost. Along with your bid to create this website, list the following information: program language, brand of shopping cart you will use, a link to the specifications of the shopping cart, and the bid amount for the Optional Feature listed below. Optional feature, bid on this separately, as an added cost. If you go to _www.abbottcards.com_ and click on the FAQ tab, and then scroll down about 1/3 of the page, you will see (in the text) a link: “slotted for insertion.?? When you click on this link, you will see a little loop motion of a business card being inserted in a greeting card. (ALL of my greeting cards have these same 2 slots for business card insertion.) I would like a similar feature. General Conditions: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform See the above description. It should run on Windows XP, and all 5.0+ versions of I.E., Netscape, and linux. (You may suggest something different.)
