I need a Wordpress Plugin for Currency Conversion on my site:
(There is a plugin called currex for example which does conversion but not the way I want it as explained below. It pulls conversion rates from yahoo!finance which I quite like though, as you'll read below I want these stored in mysql only to update when I set cron, so as to minimize external calls)
Front-End
1. I can call a function in the template and it will place a drop down
menu from which the user can select which currency they want to view the site in. This will use cookies to remember the users selection as they navigate across the site. (would be nice to have advanced detection that if cookies are disabled on the users computer that it will handle it in someway eg. popup a warning or switch to session variables for that user)
2. I want to be able to "define" a currency amount in the post content AND use function calls in the theme that will then be converted and displayed in the users chosen currency
eg. Post content <!--Currency USD 50 -->
eg. Theme func_currency("USD",50);
3. Currency should display appropriate symbol eg. $ etc and on the appropriate side of the amount.(see back end)
4. Optional advanced feature - Detect country from users IP and default to their local currency (but still have drop down option)
Back end
1. Maintain a local database table of exchange rates with a script that I can run on cron to update as often as decided.
2. Maintain local database table of Currency name, symbol, side symbol is displayed, currency code etc.
3. Admin option panel to edit currency table
