Intranet site ( I think)

I manage a #1 branch for a national mortgage company.? In addition to our personal branch, we have 6 sub branches that work underneath of us.? Our corporate office has an extensive and very powerful website for the company, but it doesn't help on the personal branch level. I want to create (or us a template like OsCommerce) a web based site that is secure in some sections, that is ultimatley used by all of our branch employees. In this site, they would be able to see our newsletters, important updates to industry changes, possibly a rate watch graph, etc. (that would be the filler "fun" stuff). The MAIN purpose of the site would be to post commision sheets they can approve or decline, and have them kept there under thier account to view anytime).? Have a live updated underwriter log, so any loan officer can click a link that takes them to the updated log.? This log would be updated daily by our underwriter manager, and published whenever she felt a change took place. (I would like this log to also be emailed automatically from the system to each employee). Basically, this would be a heavily used site by our employees to pull us all together on the branch level. I currently host my sites through Network Solutions on a Unix hosting package.
