sys admin. run out of space on virtual server - error logs

I have a virtual server that I get from MediaTemple. It just ran out of space due to some 80 gig error logs. I had a very quick look at the error logs and it seems to be a lot about php variables not being declared but I deleted the log before exploring closer. I deleted using rm -rf. Even though I delete the error log, my server still seems to be full. I'm looking for someone who can confirm the error logs are in fact too big and that is causing the problem and also advise me on what is causing the error logs to be so big and what I should do to fix it. I will provide you ssh access to the server and root password. I need someone who knows what they are doing and can do this ASAP. Thanks!
