Looking for a coder to digitize the Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Guidebook 2008 in a Blackberry-compatible format. All the required information is saved in excel spreadsheet format and is also available as a PDF. There is also an existing free software for the Windows Mobile and Windows PC operating systems.
In summary, looking for a coder who can make software what looks/acts like the Windows version for the Blackberry. All material is released to the public and may be freely reproduced as per the US PHMSA with some restriction as listed in the available PDF.
## Deliverables
The software should be able to run on Blackberry OS 4.2 and newer unless specific conditions exist that require the use of a newer OS, in which case the next minimum version that can accomplish the objective should be used.
If possible, the coder should attempt to make the program as modular as possible so that future reversions of the ERG can be updated with the most ease and efficiency.
Materials necessary for the project can be found here: <[login to view URL]>.
The end program must have the same functionality as the ERG 2008 for Windows application. Specifically:
1) Must be able to pull up guidelines by ID Number (in which case it should also show the chemical name).
2) Must be able to pull up the guidelines by Chemical Name (in which case its ID Number should also be shown).
3) Must be able to pull up guidelines by Placard image (in which case it should be able to list all substances using that guide page).
4) Must include rail car and road trailer identification pages/pictures.
5) Be able to list the last 3 - 5 guide pages viewed.
