Dating Site with Reddit API Component

Project Requirements & Overview -PHP-based web app -Social Network: Study partner/tutor finder (Same concept as a dating site) -UI: Design NOT needed–does not have to look good. Everything can be plain text, default buttons, and etc. PART 1: Login/Register Page: Login/Register with Reddit account Similar to "Connect with Facebook" functionality seen on popular websites–users should be able to create an account and log in using Reddit only. They should not have to create a username and password. You'll probably want to use this PHP API wrapper to accomplish this task: [login to view URL] You will need to create an app using the dummy Reddit account (see "Initiating Your Login Session" at link above). Signing up/logging in should pull in the following as user metadata: -Reddit user info: -Human-readable name (such as myusername345) -Unique identifier (such as e44yQs) -Each subreddit you're subscribed to*: -Human-readable name (such as Music) -Relative URL path (such as /r/Music) -Unique identifier (such as e44yQs) *For a hint on how to do this, see section labeled "Get Subreddit Relationship Information" at the link above. Set the maximum to 100, since that's the limit. The Subreddits should update each time you log in. So the user experience should work like this: 1. User visits website and hits "Sign Up With Reddit" button 2. User clicks "Accept" when asked if they want to authenticate their Reddit account with this app 3. User gets taken to their profile page (see next PART) PART 2: Profile page (View/edit your profile) Users should see the following... Required, PRE-POPULATED fields: -Their Reddit username in human-readable format (pre-populated, not editable) -Their nickname (uses Reddit username by default, but can be changed) -A list of relative URL paths for each subreddit they're subscribed to. These should be selectable. All should be selected (highlighted) by default. When a user deselects a subreddit, it should unhighlight the name. This should be done using a CSS class, not inline styling. Required, EMPTY fields: -Email address -Birth date (this should use form validation so we can use it to display their age later–actual birth date will not be displayed) -Zip code. This should be geocoded and stored as coordinates. -Classification (dropdown): Student, Tutor, Other -Interested in partnering with (checkboxes): Student, Tutor, Other NON-REQUIRED fields: -Profile photo + additional photos. Ideally users should be able to manually crop/zoom the profile photo (or all of them–doesn't matter) to be square, and reorder them. There also should be 5 photos max, including profile photo. -Major (can just be a plain text input field to fill in what their educational discipline is) -Bio (plain text area field which retains line breaks–users can describe the type of tutoring they're looking for or type of tutoring they’re offering here) PART 3: User pages (View another user's info) Each user should have a "public" profile page at [login to view URL] but it should only be viewable by other logged-in users. The URL should be all lowercase. User pages should only display the following: -Nickname -All photos (with the main photo being bigger than the others) -Major -Bio -Like/Dislike buttons (user will no longer see this person after Disliking them–if two people Like each other they will receive a message about it) -Send a message button PART 4: Browse Users page (View list of users) Users should see a list of users, filterable by age range and distance. They can select any of the following increments: 3 miles, 5 miles, 10 miles, 25 miles, 50 miles (Zip code distance). Should show: Main profile photo Nickname Like button Dislike button Major Biography (shortened to a max of 200 characters) Compatibility Percentage (see next section) View profile (links to [login to view URL])
