Hi, for an art show we are interested with running a few 3d printers at the exact time.
we are looking for the impact of several 3d printers completing the jobs at once.
What we need:
Milestone 1. Multiple Gcode senders.
- User can predefine the number of gcode sender windows = the number of running 3d printers.
- each gcode sender will be connected to dedicated 3d printer via a different com port (virtual com port for USB).
- I will be able to start printing on each gcode sender separately (for printer tests) or at once for the main propose.
- Check the GUI interface required for that milestone.
Milestone 2. Synch routine
3d printers may have different speeds and since we want them to finish all together, we should let all
printers finish a certain layer and wait until all printers finished that same layer before moving to next layer.
how it works:
in the 3d printing gcode, moving to a new layer is simply that text :
"G1 Z0.300 F7800.000" first layer
"G1 Z0.500 F7800.000" second layer
"G1 Z0.700 F7800.000" third layer
*** F stands for the speed for moving on Z axis.
1. After you send a new layer command you pause and not sending any more commands.
2. once all running 3d printers have reached in to that pause state , automatically release all printers and let them start this new layer all together.
GUI instructions
1. colors are changed according to the printer stauts: not ready , ready (connected & gocde file uploaded), printing, paused.
2. Lower line buttons just send predifined gcode comands:
Home XY is : G28 X0 Y0
Home all is : G28 X0 Y0 Z0
Preheat: M104 S220
