Hi, I'm looking for a programmer who is an expert in SVG. I'm developing a script to generate thousands of custom t-shirt designs based off a master template file. The template file has a variable set that is replaced with data from mysql. All this is easy for me. No problem... I'm stuck on the SVG path/transform functionality... Here are the 2 problems I need solved... First. Look at the attached example. This is an example output file that we are trying to generate. #1. I need to be able to generate a path/shape from my variable text on the fly in my script for all the school names in my database. I'm talking about the word "IRVINE" in my example. I did the attached example in Inkscape using the "Bezier Envelope Extension". Watch this video to see what I did... [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] I'm hoping we can do this in PHP, python and/or using the Inkscape command line tool. #2. Great! We figured out how to do #1... Now that we have our new path/shape... We now need to scale it to fit an exact size within our graphic. You can see this done here... Hi. I am not bidding as such since i'm not fully knowing the requirement aspect. Just wanted to point out one aspect which may help you. In svg the viewbox size and also the point from where the vector need to be drawn is something that could set the size of the drawing/graphics within the viewbox. So may be you could play around with setting the values for viewbox and from the point where the drawing will be made. All the best.

Hi, I'm Matt and am certain I can help you (23 years of IT, web mastering and multimedia experience, 5+ scripting web animations/visualizations with SVG). I've checked your references several times (videos and Inkscape extension) and I would redo it in PHP (I know much more than Python). The call to the script (1st step of your task) would be with two parameters, one as your image and the second particular named/numbered shapes from the template provided on your Inkscape extension webiste. The second part is maybe easier or harder when I get more details/scripting of it. SVG images by themselves are resizable (if there is no width and height set) and fitting given frame can be a simple task of setting a viewbox e.g. image dimension to be the same as for a frame. Yet it can mean more scripting if results would be inadequate (though shape "warping" uses the same principle, keeping relative proportions/sizes of letters). This scripting task require more manual work and tweaking than usual so this is my final bid offer. If something can be done with SVG I will implement it (know SVG 1.1 specification very well now).
