Load testing web application

We are planning to move our Microsoft ASP.NET web application to a new host in January. We currently are hosted in a shared environment and want to know what we need to purchase for our dedicated environment. Our application in the shared environment (1 database server and 2 web servers) support approximately 2000 concurrent users. We want to ensure the new configuration can support the 3,000 +. We want someone to utilize load testing software such as Mercury Loadrunner to test the application with virtual users. This will give us benchmarks so we know how scalable the application is. So as our user count grows we know when to upgrade hardware. We will provide the test environment and the load tester should be able to provide clear documented test results.
