I work for a dental lab who manufactures orthodontic clear aligners, branded Straigh28, and need help building a web-based clear aligner animation viewer that we can incorporate into our Straight28 website. The purpose of the viewer is so that we can forward patients and dentists a hyperlink that brings them to a web-based animation of the patients teeth moving from crooked to straight. It would be great if this could also work on mobile devices.
To give a breif over view of the process, a dentist takes a 3D scan of a patients mouth and sends that scan to us. We import the scan into our design software and virtually straighten the teeth. The design software then exports a series of STL files; one STL for each aligner that needs to be made.
I would like a way of playing these STL files in sequence so that it shows an animation of the teeth moving (kind of like a virtual flip-book). I would like there to be a play button that will automatically play the sequence all the way through, but also I would like there to be an option to select and view each STL file individually. Here is an example from another lab that is exactly what I would like to create:
