Hi, I've been working on CoolGen IGO60R070D1 for research purposes for quite some time now, our company design power supplies, and we managed to build quite a hefty 30 amps adjustable dc power supplies with this transistor. We were surprised with the results as thermal performance did absolute best and resistance in closed gate configuration were quite low, we are aware of its fast switching characteristics, but we haven't pushed any boundaries while testing it yet. Your project is easy and designing circuit and explanation part in not a problem(why we choose what components) but we need to use through hole components in your case for DIY easiness, and I think we also need to make changes to our preexisting charging circuit according to the components availability in Morocco Also I can give you graph data and values on the transistor such as: GAN vs traditional transistor switching characteristics Closed gate resistance compared to other transistors Junction capacitance graphs and parasitics
